Dear friends of Fr. Benedict,
From
the Hospital: Message for Saturday,
April 24, 2004
As we make our way through life, if we keep our eyes open, we will often find people who carry far greater crosses than we do. I heard recently in an Easter sermon of a young lady who had spent twenty years in an iron lung because she had polio. She never moved from that iron lung and could see the world only through a mirror above her head. When a priest friend of mine went to visit her, he expected to find someone very sad. He was going to tell her about Jesus and His sufferings. He said that when he approached her, he did not have to tell her anything. Her face was radiant, and she was so happy. She had found Jesus, she possessed Jesus. And she certainly deserved to do that.
As we go through life, let us be ever watchful for those who have greater sufferings that we do. Let us love them and try always to help them, and let us make a special point of being with them. And let us learn from them.
Father Benedict

I feel the Spirit as I visit this sight... I am overwhelmed by the beauty of all that is transpiring on the planet, the inspiration that is transcending the bombardment of distractions that are being purpetrated upon humanity. I Love Life, and I'm grateful for everything that uplifts and inspires me, and assists me to remember that I am truly a Child of God. I Choose Light, Love, Grace, Peace, and Joy to give my daily thoughts to. I am so Grateful for the inspiration from and Oneness that I feel with St. Francis, A movie about his life would be a tremendous gift to humanity. Friar Benedict, I appreciate this moment and I send prayers and healing energies. Blessings and Big Hugs! - Elizabeth, New Meadows, Indiana

Dear Father B. You are looking great!! Tonight I went back to previous dates on this website, reviewing the various video clips. It helps to hear your words over and over again! By the way, how is Father Glenn? We haven't heard from him in awhile. And how are the new friars who took their first vows doing? I continue to pray for you and the CFR community. We need you desparately!! In Christ, - Katie, Potomac, Maryland
I have enjoyed and reflected upon your words for some time now, I look forward to the day when we will all hear you speak in person. If I may, I tell people that you are my priest and I am not even Catholic. Peace and all good. - David, Taylor, Texas
We are keeping you in our prayers. In particular, my son with Down's Syndrome, whom you met and prayed with when you visited NH a couple of years ago, and who cherishes a picture taken with you, has been very concerned about you. He sends his love and prayers, and hopes that "you will be able to say Mass on EWTN again soon." Thank you for providing us with the video update on you. It meant so much to Bill to be able to see you, and your courage, strength and fortitude. You are truly God's servant, and we are blessed to be living in a time where we can personally experience your loving presence on earth. God bless you richly. - Mary, Merrimack, New Hampshire
Dearest Fr. Benedict, my love and prayers are with you, ive tried so many times to send an e-mail but for some reason it will not cross the Atlantic. I hope to be in New York in May God willing. Continued prayers are crossing the miles to you. - Mary, Ireland
Dear Fr. Benedict, Alleluia, Christ is risen indeed! I wanted to express my relief upon hearing the news of your continuing recovery. Like many others, I have been (somewhat selfishly, I admit) praying for your recovery. You have been such a wonderful help to me on my journey in the Catholic Church. I was baptized in the Episcopal Church 10 years ago, and 5 years ago began my journey with you and the wonderful folks at EWTN and Catholic Answers. It has not always been easy, but I have found that all of you are wonderful, gently guides. I came into full communion at the Easter Vigil this year, and I thank the Lord for His work through all of you! May Mary and all of the saints pray for you, that you may continue to help in the conversion of souls like me; I know I will. I hope you remember me in your prayers also, especially for my wife, who is not too happy with my decision. May the Lord bless and keep you, - Ken Mraz, Grand Blanc, Michigan
Dear Fr Groeschel and Friars,It is very humbling reading and seeing you in your wheelchair. To listen about your set back and come up with our Lord. I had a bad day, and after reading your message today I felt ashamed that I didn't offer up to God instead going on a pity wagon. God bless you all.And today is your friend in Christ's Birthday, Mother Angelica. You both have brought more sinners back to our Lord THANK YOU FOR THAT GIFT. God bless you and heal you soon - MaryAnne, Millwaukee, Wisconsin
