A Prophet for Today

Throughout salvation history God has sent prophets to speak His word. Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and Daniel are well known prophets from the Old Testament. In modern times we could point to Mother Teresa, Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict, and the visionaries who see and receive messages from the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The other day I was able to attend a talk given by a modern day prophet. Gianna Jessen is a beautiful young woman from Tennessee. She is a very gifted speaker. While listening to her witness, I felt as though I was in the presence of a true prophet for our times. Gianna spoke about the sanctity and dignity of life. She also spoke about the beauty of sexuality as God intends it. You see, Gianna’s mother tried to abort her. By God’s providence Gianna survived. She is a living witness. “Pro-choice” activists hate her because she refutes their every argument just by standing there. And she is very beautiful in every way.

When God sends a word through a prophet we should listen! What am I doing for the cause of the Gospel of Life and the Civilization of Love? Don’t just sit there saying that you are personally opposed to pornography, contraception and abortion, but...

For those with faith indifference is not an option.
