A Reason To Believe
Message for Wednesday, May 19, 2004
We’re coming now to the time of Pentecost, this is an important time for anyone who is trying to deal with a serious problem, suffering or catastrophe because the Holy Spirit lifts Himself far above the world. It was known even in the early Church, that in the worst of situations when the martyrs were facing a cruel barbaric death at the jaws of wild beasts that they called upon the Spirit of God. If you get a devotion to the Holy Spirit and if you have a devotion to the Holy Spirit and you cultivate it, and let it grow, and read on the Holy Spirit, you will find that you have much greater strength. In your own life cultivate a devotion to the Holy Spirit and you will find that you have a strength that you do not know the origins of. Try it; it works!
Let us continue to pray for each other!
Father Benedict

Dear Father Benedict,
Does one become physically stripped without becoming spiritually stripped or
vice versa? Because we are not Immaculate Conceptions we all miss the mark.
And as you said we continually work on "our trust in God"...getting
up and starting over and over again each and everyday. But the good thing is,
we have the catholic buddy system...when one of us is weak, the other one of
us is strong for the other "see how they love one another". We love
you Father Benedict as is! God bless you always.- Mary, Owensboro, Kentucky
Dear Father Benedict: I go on your website everyday with my mom. I like to listen to your videos and to read your daily messages. You look better in your pictures. From - Theresa, age9, Lakewood, California
Dear Father, I read you every day and write once in awhile. I know the feeling of being very ill. I almost died and had a tube down my throat for almost thirty days I hung in there. I use to lay in bed and just hold my bible in my arms. The dr.s said by all rights I shouldn't be alive. I told them it wasn't up to them if I lived or died. God guided them to keep me alive, God kept me alive. I hope I'm worthy, I do Trust in Jesus. I too was so afraid,God love you and hold you close to His Heart. My prayers are with you.- MaryAnne, Millwaukee, Wisconsin
Dear Father Groeschel:
May our Almighty Father continue to bless you, heal you and forever hold you
in the palm of His hand. I have asked my guardian angel to carry this prayer
straight to the throne of God for you.Sincerely,- Carole, Philadelphia, Penn.
Fr. Benedict - I am in awe in the way you continue to minister to us....through pain, rehabilitation, etc. Your unchanging message is the same....and we're listening. Thank you.- Tom, Friendswood, Texas
Dear Fr.Groeschel,

me.Thank you for being God's messenger in my life. God bless you!- Belinda,

Dear Father, I really like your video clip. The music is so beautiful and the pictures speak of your dedication and the love you have for all those who you serve. I look forward to the day when we can again see you, and look into your very expressive face with your wonderful blue eyes twinkling. In you humor and wit I have learned to look at myself and really take stock of where I am ahd where I should be heading. May God heal you and fill you with Peace. I will offer my Holy hour of Adoration for you this week. Your friend,- Annette, Columbia Heights, Minnesota
Dearest Fr. Benedict, remember, you are but a human. . .out of great doubt, comes great faith. . .Hang in there! Love,- Marie, Wilton, Maine
Father Groeschel, I just wanted to let you know that my wife and I are praying for you. We really appreciate your gifts of humor, honesty, hope and love in a world that so badly needs it. Our world is a better place because of you.(That's for sure!) God Bless You and the Franciscan Friars of The Renewal!!!- Anthony, Saint Louis, Missouri
Good morning, Father Benedict,
How wonderful to see you looking so mended!! My granddaughters, Hannah,(age
7), and Sydney (age 3,)"spellbound" by listening to you last week.
They wanted to see the "man who was talking in his bed". As you may
be able to see, they have spent a lot of time in hospitals. Trust is certainly
a "decision", someone told me, as well as a gift. But I am learning,as
you are, that it is also the most important discipline we can exercise and acquire,
with God's hgrace. My husband used to say to me when I was on the verge of "losing
it", "Calma, mama!". Another Italian would understand. Thank
you and let us continue to pray for each other. God bless you.- Mari-Ellen,
Conn.
