A Reason To Believe

From Trinity Retreat

You may have heard that I am now back at Trinity Retreat House, where I worked for over thirty years and which was my home at the time of the accident. I’m so grateful to God to return to this retreat house and to go into its beautiful little chapel surrounded by Long Island Sound. Coming home has many challenges because I am not entirely healed. I have many weeks and months of work to do in order to be able to function fairly well. However, our excellent staff at Trinity Retreat will be helping me. It gives me lots of time to think about the gift that God has given me, life again. He must have something for me to do, and I want to do it as best I can. Please pray for me, and be sure that I am praying for all of you who have been so solicitous for me during my time of recovery. We should all be more determined than ever to work for the glory of God and the salvation of souls.

Let us continue to pray for each other.

Dear Father Benedict,
I appreciate the beautiful lesson on May 18 to cultivate a devotion to the Holy Spirit to help us with our faith especially during the difficult times in our life. The nine-day novena to the Holy Spirit is a powerful prayer. This novena is available for printing at ewtn.com website.May you always walk close to Jesus and your Blessed Mother who is intercessing for you. - Alvina, Diocese of Rapid City South Dekota

Dear Father Groeschel: I am sending this message via a friends computer. I pray for your complete recovery daily. It is amazing what God does with someone's suffering. You are teaching people how to suffer. There is a right way, isn't there? By offering it up, and thinking of others who are also hurting. Even from a hospital bed, you are doing God's work. God bless you Father Groeschel. - Anne-Marie, Putnam , Cinncinatti

Dear Father Benedict. You have been in our prayers constantly since your accident. The messages from those who have visited your site are inspiring in themselves. Your letters have touched us deeply. We pray for your continued full recovery and now that we both are facing surgery (knee replacement & skin cancer) we are reminded by you of the joy of suffering for Our Lord. Thank you Father for uniting your pain with Jesus and for always being the kind teacher you are. May Jesus and His Mother Mary continue to bless you. - Bob & Marilynn, Elmhurst, Illinois.

Dear Fr. Benedict: After all these months of reading the messages sent to you from every corner of the globe all that I can add is that you are such a BEACON OF HIS LIGHT in this darkened world! I pray that our dear Lord keeps you in his loving care and that you continue to radiate that love as you have always done. Another FAN from Fresno - Marie, Fresno, California

Dear Father: Today, I got to church and lit candles all across the first row of the altar and did the Rosary -
and said a prayer for you - and all my family - and world peace - God Bless You and yes, God works through you - you continue to inspire us and to encourage us Thank you - God Bless - Vivian, Oswego, New York

Hi Father Benedict: Glad to hear you are slowly recovering. It is hard to keep a member of The Army of Youth - fighting the standards of TRUTH, we're fighting for CHIRST OUR LORD! Remember how we used to sing that in the Gym at Immaculate? Blessings and may OUR LORD Bless you and keep you and gift you with HIS PRESENCE daily. Love and Prayers, - Alice, Bradenton, Florida

In the spirit of Father Benedict, I found this quote from Henry Thoreau:
" Each man can interpret another's experience, only by his own." It is through crisis, that we find Christ...and it is through Father Benedict's understanding of human nature, that we can all unite our prayers with him. Thessalonians 5:11 states: Therefore, encourage one another. In an ever changing world, the only constant truth is God's Love. - Jacqueline, Batavia, New York

DOROTHY and I pray for you every night. We have a bond to you even though physically we have never seen you. - June, Laurium, Michigan

Dear Father, Thank you for your suffering. It helps me with mine.God bless you and keep you safe for all of us. You were in St. Louis a few years ago and spoke at our parish mission. I shall never forget you and your thoughtfulness when you spoke privately with my son and myself about our sufferings. Thank you for your inspiration and holiness. God bless you and your labors. - Leslie, Ballwin, Missouri
