Dear friends of Fr. Benedict,

Dear friends of Fr. Benedict,

From Trinity Retreat

Sunday, May 23, 2004

Having been so close to death, I’ve given it a great deal of thought. I’ve particularly thought about the death of those who are not prepared, those who have not led lives that would bring them closer to God, perhaps through little or no fault of their own. More and more I have come to see that God’s grace extends to everyone in some way. Those of us who are privileged to belong to the faith and know the teachings of the Gospel and counsels of Christ are the most favored ones, and the most will be expected of us.
We should never fail to pray every day for the salvation of all souls and offer our own sufferings in reparation for the sins of the world as well as our own personal sins. I’m filled with a sense of humility that God gave me another chance, and I hope that I will be able to use it as best I can.

Let us continue to pray for each other!

Father Benedict

Dear Father Benedict, I praise God you are back home and progressing well. I use your message to get me started in the morning. Then I go to my Bible reading. I hope someday you will put all the messages that we have read since last January, and some of the letters also, in a book form so we can use them for daily devotional reading.
