Dear friends of Fr. Benedict,
From
Trinity Retreat
Sunday, May 30, 2004
Recently I learned that when I was hanging between life and death, the priest
who
was with me, Fr. John Lynch learned that my body had filled with toxins. This
is after I had already survived the initial shock to my system of the accident.
Everyone thought that I would die in that shock, but suddenly a few days later
the toxins attacked my system from within. The doctors even using exploratory
surgery could not discover what was causing the toxins. Fr. Lynch and Dave who
were with me, stayed up much of the night praying for me and calling on the
name of Christ for His healing presence. Neither one of them were members of
the Charismatic Renewal, but they prayed almost in that way because they were
so desperate. The next morning unexplained, the toxins began to drain from my
system. There is something to be said for opening your heart completely and
entirely to God; to accept His will, whatever it may be and then to ask Him
to lead you on.
Let us continue to pray for each other!
Father Benedict

- Lily, George Town, Florida

Dear Fr. Benedict, Praise God! Saw your TV message and was so thankful to God that you have made, and continue to make, a wonderful recovery. We have kept you in our daily prayers and at every Liturgy. We look forward to the day when you may venture back to SW Florida and continue the ministry that was cut short by your accident. May God keep you in the palm of His hand and may the Theotokas surround you with Her protecting mantle. I understand that you, like me, have some Irish blood in your veins! Slainte! - Fr. Ian(aka Fr.Paddy), St. Demetrius Orthodox Church, Naples, Florida
Dearest Father Thank you so much for your message that I recieved on May 27,2004. It truly made my day. Like you, I too have been thinking about the Holy Souls. I start each day offering a prayer for them, and asking them to help me with my day. I now feel like I am in a personal relationship with the Holy Souls. The same thing happened to me with Angels. I was prompted to pray to my Guardian Angel. That in turn led to prayers to St. Michael Archangel, St Raphael, and St Gabriel. Its amazing how I can feel their presence when I pray to them or sense danger. My personal prayer for you was that my Guardian Angel would assist your Guardian Angel along with thousands of other Angels to protect you, and help bring you into full recovery. Father please know that you are always thought of and prayed for. May Jesus our Lord and Saviour forever protect you, heal you, and hold you in the palm of his hand. Sincerest Prayers, - Carole, Philadelphia, Penn.
