Dear friends of Fr. Benedict,

My Irish great-grandmother used to correct me and say, “Oh, you’re going to have a pity party. Are you going to have tea?” She said this whenever she thought I was feeling sorry for myself. I hear her words echoing in my mind even now, after sixty years. As my recuperation goes along each day and I seem to make some progress, I feel sorry that it’s taking so long. I need to remember many of my fellow patients I met along the way who are not going to make much progress, or perhaps they have already made all the progress they can. We should be more grateful to God for what we have. I watch people walking briskly down the street, children running, people walking quickly to get the bus, and I wish I could be like them again. But you know, I wasn’t so grateful when I had that capacity. It’s important that we show ourselves grateful to God for everything we have and, when we no longer have it, to be grateful that we had it before.
Let us continue to pray for each other!
Father Benedict

Dear Father Groeschel and Father Glenn, First it is wonderful to see you stronger and healing. Our Lord works through us even when we are physically unable to touch people's lives and reach out the way we are used to. But what I have learned these last couple years, especially with your Cross, you have touched so many people's lives with your courage, and your deep love and faith for our Lord. Now, to the point, I just called Grassroots last Thursday to share my heartfelt thanks for the meditations and soulful music that starts my early morning and evening prayers and meditations. In my opinion it is definitly inspired by the Holy Spirit. I asked if they were going to make an audio or vidio on your meditations, especially the "I follow Jesus" segments. The music and the meditations are very powerful and they certainly set my mind and heart ready for prayer. I am joyous to hear your message today about continuing a daily page. Like everything else, our Lord has taken a tragic incident and used one of his most precious people to touch others, especially those, like myself, who have been homebound because of illness. You are greatly appreciated and loved by your family in Christ. - Gloria, (transplanted Big Apple) Huntington Beach California
Father Groeschel, I have been visiting your web site since January. You and it have been a great source of inspiration to me. I met you when you signed a book for me at Our Lady of Pepetual Help in Morton, PA. during the Advent season of 2003. I thanked you for your work then and I thank you for your work since then. Through your suffering the Lord has worked his ways. - Marianne, Ridley Park, Penn.
Hi Fr. Groeschel, It gives me great courage to carry on when I read your messages each day. I lost my husband 5yrs.ago and am praying to know God's will for me. It is sometimes very depressing - not having a purpose. I will continue to pray for you. You are truly an inspiration! You are looking better each day. God Bless You! Love, - Mary, West Hills, California
Oh Father, How grateful to God I am to see you looking so much stronger your voice so firm and familiar. It has been a long road and you are still traveling. May God grant you many more years to tend to your devoted internet family. - Mary, Tucson, Arizona
Dear Father Benedict, The news today that these messages will continue is the best news I have received on this site with one exception, that being that you had recovered from the worst part of your injuries. Thank you, thank you for myself and all others who have been visiting. God Bless you and I will continue praying for your full recovery. - Edward, Rodewick, Rhode Island
Dear Fr. G. I've kept up with your site on a daily basis since your accident. It's good to see you looking so much better. You asked for ideas on things to post to your website...How about a weekly article on Mary/Marian Devotion. You see I'm a recent convert and I still 'just don't get' Marian devotion. I acknowledge that the Church is correct in her doctrine...but the rest??? Maybe you could help. - Sarah, Rivertown, Wyoming
Dear Fr. Benedict, You are looking so much better, and thank you for your message that your community will be continuing the daily reflections. My husband and I are so very gratful that God has given you back to us. If this is not to much to ask could you please write down that beautiful prayer you had learned as a child. I would love to incorporate this in my personal life and the children that I teach along the way. A blessed Corpus Christi Feast day to you and your entire community. ps Could you pass on a greeting to Fr.. Robert Stantion and the friars in New Mexico. - Steve and Charlene, Manchester New Hampshire
Good day to Fr. Benedict...What is so wonderful regarding this website is the spiritual communion of mind expressed by the members of this web-family that belongs to Father Benedict, through the intercession of the Holy Spirit. We seem to have a unison of opinion on many expressions, concerning our beloved friend, Father Ben. One in particular, is the thought regarding the atmosphere of "Retreat" that is found in listening, or reading Father Ben's works. What an awesome spiritual legacy he gives to us all! We continue to keep him at the top of our Rosary Prayer list! - Jacqueline, Batavia, New York
