Dear friends of Fr. Benedict,
From
Trinity Retreat
Sunday, June 20, 2004
Disappointments come to everybody. Our Blessed Lord obviously shows disappointment at the performance of the Apostles even though he knew “what was in the hearts of men.” We all experience disappointment in people, in the events of life, and the operations of nature, even in our own health. It’s not a matter of not being disappointed; the task is to go on in spite of disappointment. How many uncanonized saints are there who had every reason to be disappointed in life, and yet who went on, trusting in God and determined despite it all, to follow the Gospel. Surely our great model in this should be Our Lady of Sorrows.
Let us continue to pray for each other!
Father Benedict

I am so happy Fr. Benedict that you have continued with your messages and the updates regarding your condition. You are so much in our prayer life and daily Masses. We are so thankful to Our Lord for your steady progress. It is so strange in a way, you are on EWTN so often that we sometimes forget what you have been experiencing. Our prayers are with you. The Fountaine Family. - Mary, Sayville, New York
Dear Father Groeschel and Father Sudano, Sometimes when a family is in a crisis situation regarding one of their family members, we who are looking in on the situation tend to focus on the patient. We tend to forget all the hands, and hearts that are struggling to help the patient, spiritually, emotionally and physically. So without another moment of delay, I would like to give my heartfelt thanks to all at Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, and especially to you Father Sudano. You kept us up to date from the very beginning. Time passes and doesn't return. So, it is important to not miss opportunities to say what needs to be said. You are all in my prayers. - Gloria, (transplanted Big Apple) Huntington Beach California
Dear Fr. Benedict, I have been 'tuned' in to your condition, on this web site from day one ever since your terrible accident. I have seen the power of prayer and the power of good people who have taken care of you thru this gruelling ordeal. I am so glad to see you 'up and at it,' and back to your priestly ministries. One GREAT thing is the continuation of this web site! My idea would be to have peope send their testimonies in of what their Catholic faith and The Lord has done for them in their daily lives. Sometimes we Catholics are to silent in professing our faith and keep the light under the table. The world is so dark and so very confusing sometimes. It would be most encouraging to know how other Catholics deal with this on a daily basis. Just like you had to deal with your daily recooperations and told us how you let God help you, we would be able to uplift each other and help one another 'carry our crosses.' So with that I will say God continue to bless you and I and thousands of others are so glad your here to shine YOUR light of SON-SHINE upon us. Continued good health and blessings from above. - Bonnie, Basalt, Conn.
Dear Father, A suggestion for your web page might be a 24/7 webcam of eucharistic adoration. Wonder if that would be possible. Father, your site is such an inspiration. Thank God for you and the other priests. - Olga, Spokane, Washington
Dear Father Benedict: God has been using you all these years to lift
his suffering people. And He still does.
Your gift of witnessing to Christ in this special way, that is, through the
accident, has more than doubled the power of your message to reach hearts that
need hope and healing. I pray that, one day, your community may find its way
to bring its beacon of renewal to our broken land. - Niccolo, Manila, Philippines
Dear Fr. Benedict, Just yesterday I received the Rosary
CD of yours from pledging to support Ave Maria Radio here in the Detroit area.
I am joyous beyond all telling to be able to pray the Rosary with you! I think
Our Lord has raised you up to be a beacon of hope in these trying times for
the Church here in the USA. God Bless you, and all of the Friars. - Barbara,
Detroit, Michigan
