Dear friends of Fr. Benedict,

From Trinity Retreat

Monday, June 21, 2004

The pace of modern life is very rapid and we all get drawn into it. People sometimes hurry to do nothing when they get where they are going, but they are in a rush to get there. Taking time would mean that you could talk to people along the way and be sensitive to their needs. A person cannot do this all the time because they simply may be pressed, but it’s a worthwhile meditation to ask yourself, do I take the time to see God in the people that I meet? There is a saying, take the time to smell the roses. That’s nice too, but it is much more important to take the time to greet the Son of God, as He is disguised in our fellow human beings.

Let us continue to pray for each other!

Father Benedict

Dear Fr. Benedict, It is so good to see you back home. Checking the website and getting a personal message from you is always a treat every day. It's a great idea to have a daily meditation on the site because, as you can see by all of the messages sent on your behalf, you will be reaching souls all over the world. I do have a suggestion - please include info on the saint of the day. I have been reading lives of the saints since I started first grade in parochial school and I continue to do so today 46 years later. I realize that most modern Catholics really don't have any idea about all of the heroic men and women who have been elevated to sainthood. There are so many lessons to learn from these people and there are so many new saints thanks to JPII! A few words on how their struggles and victories in this life could apply to ours would be very good - and it would be reaching that world wide audience that tunes in to hear from you and the friars. I continue to keep you and your mission in my prayers. I thank you for the prayers that you say for us. - Janet, Philadelphia, Penn.

Dear Fr. Benedict, we wish you a very blessed and happy Fathers Day from the Oratory of Divine Love group in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Your daily meditations continue to be our "food for the journey". What a joy it is to know that you and your friars are considering making this web site a place for all of us to come to receive our daily "rations". We continue to pray for your complete recovery. Please continue to pray for us. We send our love! Your sister in Christ, - Michelle, Windsor, Ontario, Canada

Dear Fr. Groeschel, Happy Fathers Day to you! I visit your site almost every day and I praise God for your continuing recovery. It is good to hear your familiar voice again. My prayers are with you every day. Keep up the good work!! Love - Mary, Sparks, Nevada

Fr. Benedict,Praise be to our Lord Jesus Christ! Several years back we met by accident, It was a Thanksgiving evening when, Brother Ephraim was struck by a car while heading to Long Island to visit his sister and her family for Thanksgiving. I was the paramedic who realized that a religious was injured and went Saint Martin of tour church in Bethpage to get a priest. It was the greatest feelings to see the Community of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal as well as the Sister come together in prayer in the Trauma waiting area at Nassau County Medical Center that evening. I still wear the medal you gave me and pray everyday for all people in need of Gods help. Well through the Grace of God Brother Ephraim recovered and is back with the community. Then your accident happened and I got the report the next day on the EWTN web site and following you progress on the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal site. I am so happy to see your progress daily. I want you to know that through you injuries and suffering you helped people through tough time of their own. Glory and praise to our Lord having you ministering to the sick and injured from a hospital bed. I want to thank you for your dedication to the Holy Family and the people of God. I also must thank Father Glen and all the staff who run the web site. For keeping the world in touch. I continue to pray for your recovery and look foward to see you again weather it be a parise mission , a mens day of prayer or just you preaching on EWTN. God Bless you. - Frank, Bethpage, New York

Every morning after I first check family e-mail, I go directly to the CFR homepage to hear from you or Father Glenn. I've learned a lot about visiting the sick and many other things. Your web site is the highlight of my day. You are in my daily prayers, Love, - Anne Marie, Elkton, Maryland
