Dear friends of Fr. Benedict,

From Trinity Retreat

Saturday August 21, 2004

Surely many of you read the articles about the Pope’s pilgrimage to Lourdes. He did not go to ask for a miracle; rather he went to honor Our Blessed Lady and to show his great faith in the Catholic tradition of honoring the Mother of God. I am sure he was also manifesting his belief that God uses miracles to show that He cares for us, just as Jesus used miracles in His earthly life.
The Pope’s visit to Lourdes was a marvelous act of faith in this unbelieving time. In previous messages we have spoken about Lourdes and the incontestable evidence of physical healing's that are utterly unexplainable by medical science. These are signs of which we should all be aware because they are given to us by God to strengthen our faith. Our Divine Savior once said, “If I am not doing the works of my Father, then do not believe me; but if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father” (John 10: 37–38).
By this I believe Our Lord meant that if people do not have enough faith to simply accept what He taught, then they should look at His deeds. Through them they will know that He operates by divine power. We need to be clear about this.

Dear Father Benedict.- We also remember with joy when Father Glenn asked us to take a deep breath for you, Mexican children and me breath and prayed for you, and also as Charlotte from Indiana, we believe in miracles. When we prayed the miracles just arrive. Excuse me if my English is not so good, my language is Spanish. Let us continue to pray for each other, - Yoya, Mexico

Hi Fr. Benedict-I'm still praying for your total recovery-I have faith that you'll be back to 100% soon. Meanwhile I'm getting so much from your daily meditations-I consider them my daily meds. This morning while multi-tasking I was praying with you twice over. I was reading your meditation and I was listening to you on EWTN-the messages fit into each other which just goes to show that the truth is the truth and that truth is Jesus. I look ahead to that house He has prepared for us-Thanks and God continue to bless us all. - Elizabeth, New Hampshire

Send your greetings to Fr. Benedict
