It’s been many months since I’ve had the opportunity to write. When Father was finally able to speak, I gave him his “first assignment”; namely, to keep in contact with you, our friends, spread out throughout the United States and beyond.
Now that his health is improving (thank God), his work schedule is slowly increasing. So now the “baton” is passed back to me, who with some other friars, will try to provide some information and inspiration to you, our faithful friends. I must ask that you be patient as we hope to create a simple, personal resource not only for your own spiritual growth, but also for purposes of evangelization. What we hope emerges is a simple page designed to be shared with others – a page to be posted in your office or at school, but also to be mailed to family members and friends away from home.
The spiritual messages may not be long; yet we hope that they will be both provocative and practical. Many of the reflections I suspect will be based on the scripture readings of the day – but let’s see where it goes! As you may know, the friars are not “no-tech”, but we are “low-tech”, meaning that much of the mechanics of getting this message to you is made possible by our friends at the Grassroots Renewal/Youth 2000 office. We have purposely put a healthy distance between us and the computer – so please be patient. We’re just a bit beyond writing quills and carrier pigeons!
So, do check the site throughout the week. Who knows - in time we may even be able to do a daily reflection. As Father Benedict mentioned, he will write a reflection every Sunday.
Until next time…
God bless you,
Fr. Glenn Sudano, CFR
