In the Third Secret of Fatima, the angel cried out, “Penance, penance, penance!” Only one thing will stop us from getting into heaven, unrepented mortal sin - which can also be described as refusing God’s mercy (He won’t force it on us). Let us pray for the grace to know our sins and to be truly sorry for them. Let us also pray that our lives will bear fruit worthy of repentance (love).

Fr. Benedict likes to say that all true reform begins in only one place, the human heart. I am the problem. Sin is the sickness. Jesus is the Divine Physician. Mercy is the medicine. Repentance is our rehab. Healing is our hope.
