Dear Friends of the Friars,
Just a little “station break” to let you know that we will be posting a special “series” direct from Honduras. No, this isn't our attempt to compete with “reality T.V.”, but rather an attempt to be faithful in providing a daily update during the hustle and bustle of the summer months.
Sister Clare, the newly invested Sister Francesca Maria, and our faithful co-worker, Rosann are presently visiting our mission in Honduras. So, here’s our plan. Each day we will attempt to post Sister Clare’s reflections of her first visit to Honduras. Rosann will be providing photos to accompany sister’s daily diary. Let’s see if the “Third World” cooperates – hospitality is abundant in Honduras – but computer technology?? Thanks to Rosann’s trusty laptop and a satellite soaring somewhere in space, we hope to make this happen!
This mission to Honduras is a first for the CFR sisters! Of course, the friars hope that they will get “bit” with the mission bug – not the kind that gets you sick in the stomach, but in the heart! The main symptom? A burning desire to return for good!
Meanwhile, many of the friars are preparing to go to World Youth Day and will be acting as spiritual assistants to a number of youth groups. I’ll be staying stateside as I will be conducting a retreat for the Fathers of Mercy in Kentucky. Please pray for the Lord’s blessing on this retreat. Meanwhile, if you don’t see anything on the “From the Friars” page – aim an “Ave Maria” towards Honduras – that should work out the glitch!
