In the past month, we have had 17 young women from all over the world staying with us as they seriously consider entering religious life. These young women are from Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, and Texas. They also found their way to us from Canada, France, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Scotland. (Fr. Luke could produce an equally diverse list of young men visiting the friars.) These are enthusiastic, talented young women. Among them is a nurse, a lawyer, and an officer of the US Air Force. There are college students and missionaries, as well as accomplished musicians and athletes among them.
This is a little glimmer of the great work that the Holy Spirit is doing among young people! The vocations directors for the Sisters of Life, The Nashville Dominicans, The Sisters of Mary Mother of the Eucharist and others could echo this joy of seeing so many young women serious about living the Gospel of Jesus Christ – wherever He calls them.
Be encouraged, and keep praying for vocations – it’s working.
