September 6, 2005 On Sunday, September 4th, friars and family members gathered at St. Leopold Friary in Yonkers, New York for a Mass of Thanksgiving for the ordination of Brother Christopher Paul Metzger and Brother Solanus Maria Benfatti. On Saturday morning, together with five other diocesan seminarians, Brother Christopher and Brother Solanus were ordained to the diaconate at Saint Joseph’s Seminary by Bishop Dennis Sullivan, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of New York. Also present at the Sunday morning Mass was Brother Michael Kmiotek, a deacon who is completing his last year of studies at Holy Apostles Seminary in Cromwell, Connecticut. All three friars are looking forward to their ordination to the priesthood to be held at Saint Patrick's Cathedral in May of 2006.
