Dear friends of Fr. Benedict,
Tomorrow
evening we will continue with Father Benedict's "From The Hospital" reflections.
Tonight we will give you just a short update on Father's condition.
Father Benedict is deeply grateful for all the prayers he has received; they seem to be bearing great fruit! He will be leaving the hospital this week for a nursing home. The last small trach is to be removed and he is now able to speak and to eat pureed food. He very much asks your prayers for his right arm and elbow which could be areas of lasting and persistent damage. God's will be done.
God bless you,
Br. Daniel Marie, CFR

Fr. Benedict, Thanks be to God! I just heard the wonderful news today that you are speaking again. You have been such a huge blessing in my life, and the lives of my children. We are continuing to pray for you everyday, your life is such an inspiration to me. I have been going through a tough time lately, but it is nothing compared to your sufferings. God bless you Father, we will continue to pray for your complete recovery. - Kelly, Fayetteville, Georgia
Father Benedict, You once opined: You can't keep an old nun down-- I think that goes double for old friars! Glad to see you are up and still swinging. We need you in these dark, but somehow hope filled days. It is great news to hear that the rumbling rasp from New Jersey is back among us. Keep using that voice to call us all to conversion and to Christ's Church as you have throughout your powerful ministry. I am convinced you will be stronger when you get out of the hospital than you were when you crossed that street in Orlando. As Mother Angelica has taught us: in weakness there is great strength in the Lord. Our prayers and those of the Sisters of Our Lady of the Angels Monastery are with you. Come see us soon; the camera and your chair is waiting. With Love and Gratitude. - Raymond Arroyo and The EWTNews Staff
Dear Father Benedict I am so pleased to hear the glad tidings of your recovery. I am a protestant fan. I love your keen insight re things of the spirit, I have read and reread your book "The Original Wound". I should also like to add that I find you wry sense of humor delightful. I pray that you will get stronger each passing day. God Bless you and your friars. - Judith, Plano, Texas
Dear Father Benedict, Each morning as I turn on my computer to begin my day ministering to women and men suffering from a past abortion I am met with the prayer card from Good Counsel Homes that has your picture on it holding on of the babies. It is a constant reminder not only to pray for your recovery daily, but also an encouragement to continue the work of Lumina. Both you and Chris have been such a inspiration to me as I follow God's will in doing this ministry. Although I always appreciated Good Counsel, the magnitude of the sacrifices and fidelity you have both shown over the years have been a constant example to me. I thank you for not only preaching the faith but for being a living example of it both in good times and bad as you submit to God's will. Praised be Jesus Christ....we are so grateful for you! - Theresa, Harrison, New York
Dear Father Benedict Groeschel, Tears of joy came to my eyes when I read that you are able to talk now. I have been praying a Rosary for you daily. You, Mother Angelica and all the EWTN staff have made our world a so much better. Praise and thanks be to God. I would like to bring you a wild blueberry pie to go along with your chicken noodle soup!! - Maryann, Stacy, Minnesota
My dear Fr. Benedict, I'm at work but can't hold back the tears - You have spoken! What a gift God has given us all! Praise be to Jesus, whom we have implored so often through the Blessed Virgin Mary! We've been praying for you since the accident, and I've written a couple of times. Through several videos and audio tapes, you've had great influence on our spiritual development. (We don't have TV but use an old computer monitor as a screen.) Although we've never met, Brian and I have spent many an evening with you. Do you remember all those comments about St. Paul the "Mt. Matterhorn" of his spirituality? Well, they appear to have taken root in us. Married nearly 37 years ago (in a tiny Franciscan church in Upstate New York), we recently became postulants in the Holy Family Institute. Although I’m a convert, I feel like a "natural-born" Franciscan called to a Pauline spirituality. The good Lord has his reasons. Please pray for us and for our children (Naomi and Christian), our young grandsons (Zacharias, Alexander, Dominik, and Erich), and for their father, Walter. Fr. Benedict, I’m so excited to “hear” your voice again! Yes, I’m sure you’re being returned to work in the vineyard. Once again, God has had mercy on us. Glory be to God Most High! May the Sweet Virgin Mary keep her holy hand upon you and guide you, both now and forever! Amen! With love and tears of joy! - Lois & Brian, San Pablo, California
My Dear Father Benedict, I have no profound words to say to you except I love you and thank you for helping me know Jesus better. I was so hurt and frightened when I heard of your accident. Part of me forgets all your messages of hope and I'm scared into a despair over the world which seems to daily get worse and worse. I need you and Mother Angelica to lift my hopes. Now I send you all the hope in the world as you speak your first words. Your words are revival to my spirit. Please God hold this dear humble priest carefully in the palm of Your hand, so he can help us keep hope. - Miriam, Carriere, Mississippi
Dear Fr. Glen and Fr. Benedict, After all these many days of reading the updates, what an absolute thrill to see some words from Fr. B!! We read the updates each day and pray for Fr.
