Dear Fr. Glen, Thank you for your words from the heart about confession. As I say to my friends if your catholic you have a story about confession! In the 50's I did have some bad experiences but not enough to keep away. Today I am blessed to have not just one but many very good experiences. As I sit here I am so grateful for the sacrament and God's Mercy. I am grateful for a parish in downtown Stamford that has confession before every weekday and before a few of their Sunday Masses, besides the usual Saturday. There are only two priest there yet they take the time to make sure everyone can receive this beautiful healing sacrament. May God Bless every priest who has taken the time to pray and has learned how to listen and help to us. It does take time to read some of the classics that very often can help us in our spirtual walk. We can tell the difference when someone wants to be their and someone who does not care. I am sure the same can be said about us too!

Father Glenn, Do not despair. I would imagine you bear a Cross having to deal with all the media ranting and raving against our beloved Catholic Church. This has to cause you to weep, as you say. And I would expect Our Dear Lord and His Blessed Mother are weeping also. Such cruelty and ignorance on a daily basis. So many of these tv personalities consider themselves authorities on the Catholic Church. "Father, forgive them, they know not what they do". I am reminded of that over and over again. One of my sons is a gifted writer and has a Masters in Ancient History. He write letters to the editor now and then in response to some of the erroneous material that people put in the paper. He does it very well and is able to take a strong stand for the Catholic Faith. I happen to be a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for many years and one thing that has always astounded me is this: I seem to be the only one who does NOT have an ax to grind against the Catholic Church. I know that God brought me to AA and I have a responsibility to honor Him and thank Him for what he has done for me. I don't know why so many people don't "get" this. Remember there are people out here who pray for you and your brother Friars. You are so needed. One of your friends in California.

Dear Father Glenn, After reading your description of the radio/confession call -in program, I added the talk show hosts and the callers to my prayer list. I am very skeptical of such "confessions" of confession experience's being true. Rather I attribute it to the very afraid sinners in the grip of Satan who enjoy bashing the Catholic Church. These persons want to continue in their sinful lifestyle and were not happy when told to stop their sinful lifestyle. Of course you have this all figured out too! This radio station should give equal time for people to call in and give their testimony of the awesome graces of confession. The wondrous and peace filled grace when one hears the words of absolution. This web site is great! You all are in my daily Rosaries.

Father Glenn, A soul will enter the confessional today for the first time in many years I pray. A soul that you, and Father Benedict would call a whale. A 40, 50 or 60 year catch for Christ. Thank you for your tears and your yes to helping pour Christ's mercy into our open wounds.
