Dear Fr. Benedict,

Your message of May 29 hits right at the heart of the problem.  I have a sister who is in a religious order who, unfortunately changed with the times, and many of the sisters live in apartments and they wear regular street clothes.  The convent where my sister is at the moment is up for sale.  They house many aged nuns and have a infirmary.  Sadly, they have more employees than religious and so they have found it necessary to sell the building.  It is so encouraging to see your order as well as other "traditional" orders flourishing and attracting so many young people who want to live the radical life! Kudos to all of you.  Let us all pray for those orders of religious who were fooled into thinking that only in getting in step with the times could they hope to attract new vocations, that the Holy Spirit will breath new life into them by bringing them back into step with their holy founders!  Love and prayers, Michelle, Canada

Father John Anthony,

Thank you for your message about angels. It is beautiful and reminds me to talk to my Guardian angel more often. I gave my angel a name some time ago and that prompts me to talk to (her?) throughout the day. I try to remember to invite her to come with me to daily Mass and adore Our Lord with me. Also during my hours at Perpetual Adoration, I ask her to be there with me. Actually I ask her to watch over my car when it is parked etc.

I will include her more and more thanks to your writing. I know my angel is probably not a gender but it just helps to have given a feminine name.

When our priest brings the Blessed Sacrment back to the Adoration chapel after Mass, I always say to her, Angel, Our Lord is now passing through our midst. Of course my angel knows it but I do it anyway. I do thank God for my angel.
God Bless you and keep you and your friars safe.  Your friend, Judy (CA)
