Dear Father Glenn,
I enjoyed your September 8th letter on "fearing God". Your words rang so true! I wish we could all pray as hard and as sincerely to the Lord everyday as we do when we are in that shaking airplane or otherwise fear for our lives. It is as you said, in times of fear we realize how fragile and dependent we are upon the Lord and his mercy and protection.

Your explanation, Fr Glenn, on fear of the Lord (Sep 8) was as clear and easy to understand as any I've ever read. That is a phrase that does confuse people. Growing up, I often had other ideas of what it may mean, discovering that it wasn't as ominous as I first thought. But you nailed it well, along with the practical examples one could apply to understanding it even more. A little bit here, a little bit there--and as times goes on, all the information a person receives (hopefully positive) settles in the mind and heart (not necessarily in that order either). As always, thank you. ...Nancy in Michigan

Thank you Fr. Sudano for the beautiful explanation of the gift of the fear of the Lord.
Ester
