Dear Fr. Glen,
Your analogy of comparing the Catholic Church to a mighty oak tree is absolutely breathtaking! What a beautiful meditation to ponder the magnificence of Her beauty through your words, "a mighty tree with large twisted branches reaching out to heaven and thick dark roots clawing the earth. At night it looks fearful, but in the light of the morning sun – a beauty to behold!" I will never look at a mighty oak tree the same way again!

Dear Father Glenn, your thoughts given this morning are stark and simple, beautiful and to the point. And as I read the last 3 paragraphs, the cherry tree in our local park came to mind. After Mass last Sunday, we took the children to the park. As they were trying to climb one of the cherry trees there, my husband and I noticed the worn part of the great limb where the feet of many children must have been pressing over time. It was as smooth as our dining room table and about the same color. Amazing. And beautiful. It may not have been the “mustard tree” that Our Lord Jesus speaks about in His Gospel but it is an image worth contemplating. Still, I am reminded of His invitation and command, “Suffer the little children to come to me and do not hinder them, for of such is the Kingdom of God ”. Thank you and God bless you. Let us continue to pray for each other
