Sr. Clare
Thank you for your message of Nov. 3 concerning your Thursday night youth group. What an awesome ministry. What a blessing you are to the young people who participate. As parents and grandparents, we should take your wonderful example and take every opportunity to pray with the young people in our lives. If we all taught the children God has placed in our care to pray the way we should what a different world this would be. Your message is a real encouragement to all of us. Young people for the most part are really seeking truth and it is up to us to point them in the right direction by showing them how to communicate with God. It is only in this way that they can develop that personal relationship with Him that we are all called to. May we all take up the challenge to try to make Our Lord real to all the young people in our lives. God bless you, Sr. Clare and all the Franciscan Friars and Sisters of the Renewal. May He continue to bless your Thursday night youth group.

I was delighted to read Sister Clare's letter reporting that the children in her youth group say the Rosary. I know it takes around 15 minutes to say the Rosary. The Pastor at a church I attend sometimes keeps his sermons between 3 to 5 minutes, because the children and seniors don't have an attention span that lasts any longer. I always knew he was wrong and you have proved it. Thank you.

Dear Brothers and Sisters, one of the best aspects of this website, especially the Daily eLetter, is the practical suggestions you give us. Fr. Glenn's idea about asking the K of C to sponsor a “Witness to Christmas” contest is wonderful. I will pray that the Knights take up the challenge all over the country, and that we will encourage each other with lawn displays that show the “The true meaning and message of Christmas” . Thank you for the advice. May God bless you always.

Dear Friends,
Just a few words to say that for me, Fr. Luke's letter about the importance of recognizing the good in the world while using the Lord of the Rings movie example, and ending with "never, never, never give up" brought a tear to my eye. And I even loved the opening line of "ready for some good news?" It sounded very Franciscan and upbeat to me. I think that this letter itself was a great example of light in the darkness that Fr. Glenn is talking about in his superb letter. God creates a beautiful balanced tapestry in your band of brothers.
Peace, Linda

What a wonderful idea! Contests are usually exciting and should generate much interest. Our Electric Co. has a lighting contest each year. Why not the Church having a 'true meaning' contest? I've emailed some of our 'energetic' young parishioners to plant the seed. We'll see!
