Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ -Thanks for sharing the Divine Vocation
Rap (forwarded by Fr. Richard Roemer). I'm sure I didn't do it justice, but
it brought such joy to know that your order is announcing Christ alive in the
world with such power and dignity. Congratulations to Sr. Clare and all those
"lifers" of the Renewal as you are true super men and women. What
would our Church be without you? I'm sure you're the delight of your founders,
as when you share the joy you share God's Kingdom. I'll always keep you in the
heart of my prayers and hope you'll continue to keep me in yours. May God levitate
your order like He did St. Joseph of Cupertino - just for the fun of it. May
it stand as a sign that miserable souls may sue the Catholic Church for every
penny that they think we have, but they can't kill Truth and Love. It always
resurrects as the love that conquers all.
In the Holy Revolution of Love of Rome, - Mary Ann,
Thanks for sharing the humorous, lighter side of consecrated life. I know you all take your vows seriously and this “beat box” song really shows the joy with which you embrace them.Sometimes people don’t understand that you can have humor, but be serious at the same time. I run into that a lot. They see people who laugh a lot as being naive, having an ulterior motive or assume they are weak. But they fail to realize that it can be rooted in steadfast confidence and a faith-filled zeal and which is your source of your joy and happiness. I mean. society says, “Well, if you can’t have these 3 things, then you must be sad and stoic. You are solemn religious! How can you be…happy??This Sunday’s gospel talked about the joy of the shepard finding the lost sheep, the woman recovering her lost coin. You have been blessed with the “pearl” of Christ’s espousal. How much GREATER rejoicing can there be? To be happy means you trust in His Love and Mercy. Your soul gives thanks to Him, our God, who in all His magnificence and glory, gave all of Himself on the Cross to save your (and my) little unworthy soul.Psalm 146 says, “ I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being”… and as Robert Lowry said in that old familiar song, “How can I keeeeeeep from singingggg!!”Rock on in the fire of the Holy Spirit and God Bless! - Laura , Texas
Father Benedict,
Just a response to your early morning battles. I like you, Father and you just
keep on trucking, because you give light and hope to all of us who have our
early morning, afternoon, late night or whenever battles against negativity
wherever it comes from. Whether it is from within or from without it is still
a battle. I really appreciate your sharing your battles with us - Stephanie
Loved the rap poem about poverty, chastity and obedience. - A Grandma in Indy
Dear Fr. Benedict, I'm glad to hear your recovery is progressing well. I'm sure there are many people who would literally give you their right arm if they could. - De Santo
