Dear Fr. Benedict, Fr. Glen, Friars, and Srs.,
I am a little behind on your e-letters due to recent surgery, but had to write about the June 6th letter regarding Fr. Solanus Casey. When Fr. Benedict's accident happened January 11, my Mom and I pulled out a prayer we have on the back of a pamphlet from the Solanus Center and began to pray it and requested through the intercession of Fr. Solanus that Fr. Benedict would continue to live. As soon as the Solanus Center opened January 12, I called and told them of your accident and the receptionist said he knew you and he would personally put your name on the tomb of Fr. Solanus and the friars would pray for you three times a day and at daily Mass. Each month, I made sure your name was put back on the prayer list at the Solanus Center. We were all relieved when you recovered, and I have always attributed it to the intercession of Fr. Solanus Casey.

When I had my surgery May 25, a third class relic of Fr. Solanus was taped to my hand, along with my scapular and my surgery time took two hours less than it was supposed to and the doctors were amazed. My surgeon questioned my Mom as to what I did to prepare for the surgery. She told them I prayed and got everyone and their brother to pray as well. The doctor told my Mom I never bled during the surgery and they were ready to do transfusions. During all his surgeries he had never seen anything like it. Prayer is still powerful. As Fr. Solanus Casey used to say, "Thank God ahead of time!" I thank God every day that the prayers we said that you, Fr. Benedict, would remain with us worked, as you are a true gift of hope for so many. Many in Michigan are looking forward to the day we can call Fr. Solanus, St. Solanus! Keep up your great ministry in cyberspace. Blesssings of JMJ, St. Pio, St. Therese, Mother Theresa, Pope JPII and Fr. Solanus Casey,
Lisa from Owosso, Michigan
