Father Richard ... I hope its alright to print off the little
rap in today's message ... my grandchildren will love it! Sr. Clare is in my
prayers from now on ... part of the list in the back of my prayer book. yours
in Jesus and Mary. - Nona, Dear Father Sudano,
It was interesting to read your comments about the steel cross at the site of
the
destruction of 9/11.
Just wanted to pass on the we had our own local miracle here in Connecticut
just
this past Saturday, 9/11/04. There was a propane gas leak at St. Mary's Ukrainian
Catholic Church located in
Glastonbury, Connecticut; and the church was reduced to rubble. A white marble
statue of our Blessed Mother, her head bowed and hands folder in prayer, just
25 feet from the church, was untouched by the explosion. The newspaper article
stated
"the blast was so powerful it knocked over chairs in nearby homes and could
be heard for ten miles." Many people from all faiths are coming to see
the statue and calling it a miracle. The Connecticut State Police have to direct
traffic on this small side road. The explosion happened at 6:45 a.m. Not long
after it took place, parishioners had been scheduled to come and prepare some
food for a breakfast gathering. One man was quoted that he already had one leg
on the ground getting out of his car to do his volunteer work when it happened.
He was not injured. I thought you would find this interesting. I read your letters
every day as well as those of Father Benedict and have included him and the
friars in my morning and evening prayers. I am a member of St. Mark the Evangelist
Roman Catholic Church in West Hartford, Connecticut. -Lonni,
