Christian strength
If we admit to ourselves and accept our own weakness and brokenness we allow God the opportunity to “surprise” us with His grace. If we are honest with ourselves we will discover that humility and poverty enable one to see clearly, while pride and arrogance truly make one blind and completely self centered.
Christianity is not a religion for “strong” people or any kind of elite group of people. It is a religion for all of humanity, a humanity that is weak, broken, afraid and often very confused.
Unfortunately this is the human condition, yet at the same time it is the very thing that attracts God to us, for He has “lifted up the lowly and the hungry he has filled with good things.” (Luke 1:52-53)
Thank God for His wonderful mercy, for even our brokenness has found a place in His heart. We no longer have to act as if we have it all together and our lives are perfect. Something, of course, which God always knew, yet we tend to forget.
