Reception of New CFR Postulants

Postulancy is the first stage of formation for the friars. Each year postulancy begins with a simple ceremony on the birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary, September 8th. We truly see each new brother as a gift from Our Lady.

Making the journey to New York was a big step for these men. As the vocation director, I have had the privilege to walk with them on this journey. They have come from many different places: from California to England!

Now the process of formation begins. They will be learning about our way of life. As we each live our vocations, we strive to offer a whole-hearted yes to the Lord. Mary was the only human person to offer a complete and total yes: "Let it be done unto me according to your word!" May she help all of us to be more like her.

God bless,

Fr. Luke Mary Fletcher, CFR
