Jesus and the Pope

I really miss Pope John Paul II. He was the only Pope I knew my whole life. During his recent visit, I had the chance to meet him personally twice and attend his events several times. Like so many of us in the JPII Generation, his teachings continue to inspire and guide. After the World Youth Day in Cologne with the new Pope Benedict I was experiencing JPII-withdrawal. The recent Papal visit to America has helped quite a lot.

I am so happy to see that Pope Benedict is himself. He could not be another John Paul II. Now I feel that I have room in my heart to love them both. These are the two men chosen by the Lord to lead the Church in the wake of World War II and Vatican II. Through the office of the Papacy, the Lord Jesus is with us in this new millennium! This is such a source of hope.
