I hope you don't mind, but now and again we'll be taking a "break in action" simply to make some special announcements and requests.
#1 - Thank you! On behalf of the friars I want to say "thank you" for your continued interest in "From the Friars". A number of you have e-mailed comments to Joe Campo at the Grassroots/Youth 2000 office. As you may know, the friars keep a bit of distance between us and the computer. This means that your e-mail doesn't come directly into the friary - any personal messages are forwarded to us. If you want to send us any input or offer any suggestions, feel free to write me: Fr. Glenn Sudano, CFR, Saint Felix Friary, 15 Trinity Plaza, Yonkers, NY 10701.
#2 - Do your best to use the "From the Friars" reflections as a means of grassroots evangelization. Many of you have told us you are "printing and posting" these in your homes, schools, and offices - that's the idea! Give or mail the reflections to others, especially those who are not "on board". There's too many of your friends, co-workers, and relatives hanging off the sides of the boat (to the right and left). Hopefully, the reflections will get them down "into the hold" right in the heart of the Church, in the heart of Christ! So, don't just read the reflections - "Print to Post"!
#3 - Please, please, please - make sure you see the movie "Therese" which will soon be released! I assured Leonardo DeFilippis, the producer and director of the film, that we will be asking all of our friends (that's you) to see and support this wonderful film. Please visit the website www.theresemovie.com or call 1-800-683-2998 to have the movie come to your area.
#4 - Finally, Father Benedict's health continues to improve. He's "back in the saddle", although he traded in his race-horse for a mule! He started teaching our postulants and novices again, but this time they're traveling to the retreat house where he resides. He has also started to conduct his retreats for the clergy. So, thank you for your prayers - but please continue - who knows, maybe in time he'll trade in the mule for something more sporty!
