Pro-Life Sunday
Every year for over twenty years we have been commemorating this Sunday as Pro-Life Sunday, bringing together all our efforts to stop abortion and the destruction of innocent human life. Sometimes the battle has seemed to be almost hopeless, but in more recent years some very real possibilities have emerged. Since this horror was fostered on the American people by the Supreme Court (the same people who caused the Civil War), we all are hoping that the court itself may rethink this terrible decision called Roe v. Wade.
During the past few weeks I’ve lived through a part of the terrible drama caused by that decision. A very fine young couple learned from a sonogram that there were difficulties, possibly major difficulties, in the development of their little baby. Without paying any attention to pro-abortion doctors—who are many—they went on with their determination to have the child who is now home with all signs of good health. The parents and family are elated. I also am elated, but more than that I am impressed by the courage and faith of the parents. Would we have known what to do if Pope John Paul II, along with many others, had not clearly condemned the process of abortion?
Enthusiastically support the Pro-Life Movement in any way that you can. If we give up, we’re never going to get out of this mess until we have done some extreme damage to our country. Old Europe is on the edge of collapse. European civilization is in great danger because of a severe decline in the number of children.
The Pro-Life Movement represents the best chance that the United States has to survive with its history and ideals. It represents also the will of God for the human race. When God has to punish people, He lets them punish themselves. That’s happening in Europe. Let’s not let it happen here.
