An Attitude of Gratitude

At our recent Thanksgiving food give-out, one of the women who was present was so overwhelmed at receiving an unexpected turkey that she wept with humble gratitude. I couldn’t help but look at myself and wonder when was the last time I wept over the abundance I continually receive from the Lord, all of which I have neither earned nor can repay. Are we not all just simple beggars before Him?

Yes, but He never sends us away empty handed. For if we too approach Him with humility, awaiting whatever He may place in our hands, not expecting or anticipating, we will find ourselves like the lady above—weeping with gratitude.
