Religious (brothers) are called upon to bear special witness to this prophetic dimension. The counsels of the Lord stimulate and encourage in religious (brothers) the continuing conversion of heart and the freedom of spirit which serve to remind their contemporaries that building of the earthly city cannot but be based on the Lord and directed towards Him. Since the profession of the

counsels establishes especially close links between religious and the Church, it is to them that an increasingly insistent and confident appeal is made for well-judged renewal, open to people's needs, their problems, their searching's.
