August 2006

May the Lord give you and the world His peace!

This month I would like to mention four Maronite Catholic saints from Lebanon. Please ask for the intercession of these special saints for peace in Lebanon. My family on my mom's side came to the United States from Lebanon around 1890. Five of us friars (including me) had planned a two-week preaching tour in Lebanon this month. Sadly, we had to cancel. Our Br. Youssef Myriam Hanna (currently stationed in Honduras) grew up in Beirut. Please pray and fast for peace. The Virgin Mary has said in her apparitions that "prayer and fasting can end wars."

We are praying for you and your discernment everyday, especially on Wednesdays. Let us set our hands to the plow in the Lord's vineyard and not look back! "The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor" (1 Cor 3:8).

God bless you,
