July 2005___________________________
May the Lord give you His peace! Again, thank you for your patience in trying to reach me. Br. Peter and Br. Sebastian are helping me as a "vocations team." The second phone line is installed and working. The summer is a busy time for vocation visits (school is out, etc.).

In the first Vocations eLetter I quoted Pope John Paul II on three reasons why it is hard for young men to embrace a religious vocation: "Fear of commitment, lack of a clear understanding of this calling, and a deficient relationship with Jesus Christ." This month I'm really short on time, so, just a quick note...

As you can see below, I'm a little too busy this month. I only want to say that my pilgrimage to Medjugorje in June was really profound. I could write several letters based on my experiences there. If you ever get a chance to go, do it! Also, the candidates who hope to join us this September are doing well. Please pray for them!

I will be away on the following dates during July:
  • 5-12 Home visit with my family.
  • 13-18 Youth 2000, North Pole, Alaska.
  • 29-30 Defending the Faith Conference, Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio.

CHECK IT OUT:

World Youth Day in Cologne, Germany. August 15-21, 2005.

The next batch of C.F.R. friars will profess their perpetual vows (for life!) on July 31.
Please pray for these brothers! Watch our site for pictures.

We hope to post the brand new Grayfriar News on our website during August.
Send me a s.a.s.e to receive a printed copy in the mail.

We also hope to have a "new" revamped website before the World Youth Day begins in August.
It will have a "repair my house" theme visually.

We are praying for you and your discernment everyday, especially on Wednesdays. May the Lord give you the grace to know His plan for your life and the courage to follow Jesus wherever He is calling you! As you may know, we are not running any special "Come and See" weekends. Rather, give me a call (keep trying!) and we will set up a visit. I think that this method is more helpful in your seeing our way of life as it is with no candy coating, etc. The harvest is ripe! Let us set our hands to the plow in the Lord's vineyard and not look back!

Any idea what animal this is???!!!-›

Thank you for your patience in contacting me,
God bless you,
